Sightmark Releases the Strikon VMP 1-4x22 SFP Fiber V2: A Prismatic Riflescope Rebuilt on Shooter Feedback

Sightmark has released the Strikon VMP 1-4x22 SFP Fiber V2 Prismatic Riflescope, an updated version of its original variable magnification prismatic sight developed in direct response to shooter feedback. The V2 retains the compact 1-4x prismatic design that defined the original optic while introducing substantive updates to turret protection, mounting flexibility, and included accessories, making it a more practical option for the way shooters actually run rifles.

The Strikon VMP occupies a useful category: a prismatic riflescope that gives shooters a true 1x sight picture for close-range work while offering 4x magnification for mid-range target identification and more precise shot placement. That combination makes it a credible alternative to basic red dots for shooters who want additional capability without committing to the size and weight of a full LPVO setup. With the V2, Sightmark has refined the execution while preserving the concept that made the original worth building.

What Changed and Why

The most significant exterior change in the V2 is the adoption of capped turrets. The original Strikon VMP used low-profile exposed turrets, which offered tool-free adjustment convenience but left windage and elevation settings exposed to accidental movement during transport, training, or hard field use. The V2 addresses that concern directly, using capped turrets that protect zero once it is set. For shooters who zero a rifle and expect it to stay zeroed, that is a meaningful practical improvement.

Mounting flexibility received equal attention. The V2 is built on the Aimpoint® Micro footprint, which was one of the stronger elements of the original design and carries forward unchanged. The updated mounting package supports four distinct centerline height configurations: 1.15", 1.54", 1.93", and 2.32", giving users the ability to configure the optic for different rifle builds, cheek welds, backup sight setups, and shooting positions without sourcing additional hardware.

The included accessories package has also been expanded with real setup practicality in mind. The V2 ships with three 0.39" risers, a honeycomb filter, a rubber lens cover, large and small throw lever attachments, a CR2032 battery, a T15 Torx key, a turret adjustment tool, multiple screw sets, and a lens cloth. Rather than leaving shooters to source basic setup components after opening the box, the V2 supplies them from the start.

Optics, Reticle, and Core Specifications

The Strikon VMP V2 uses a second focal plane CRF-4 MIL fiber-wire reticle with red illumination across 11 brightness settings, including 9 daylight levels and 2 optimized for use with night vision devices. The SFP configuration keeps the reticle at a consistent apparent size across the magnification range, while the MIL-based design provides practical hold references for shooters who want them. Shake Awake technology deactivates the optic after 10 minutes of inactivity and reactivates it when movement is detected, preserving battery life without compromising readiness. Battery life ranges from approximately 6 hours on the highest brightness setting to 1,500 hours on the lowest.

The prismatic optical system delivers a compact body with fully multi-coated lenses, 89.5% light transmission, and a 22mm objective lens. Field of view runs from 133.0 ft. to 35.8 ft. at 100 yards across the magnification range, and eye relief spans 3.94" to 3.54", providing practical comfort whether the shooter is working from a bench, a standing position, or a field rest. Click adjustments are 1/10 MIL with 23 MIL of total windage and elevation travel for precise zeroing.

The housing is 6061 aluminum with a matte black finish. The optic is IP67 waterproof, nitrogen-filled for fog resistance, and shockproof, with a rating for calibers up to .308 covering the most common rifle platforms in use. At 5.83 inches long and 17.6 oz. with the 1.54" mount, it remains compact enough for modern carbines without sacrificing structural integrity.
