Range USA Participates in Gun Storage Check Week Retailer Pilot Program

NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, announces all 50 of Range USA's locations are participating in the first Gun Storage Check Week® retailer pilot program to promote secure storage practices in their local communities.

Gun Storage Check Week is a national campaign of NSSF, which is observed June 1–7 and September 1–7, to coincide with National Safety Month and National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, respectively. During Gun Storage Check Week, the message of "Make Sure It's Secure®" is highlighted to millions of firearm owners to help prevent unwanted access to firearms.

"Having each of Range USA's locations come on board to promote secure storage practices ensures customers in 50 communities will have a local touch point to engage with the firearm industry's safety message during Gun Storage Check Week," said Joe Bartozzi, NSSF President and CEO. "We applaud Range USA for their involvement in this retailer pilot program. Grassroots efforts like this will further amplify awareness that secure firearm storage saves lives."

The goal of Gun Storage Check Week is to help prevent firearm accidents — especially those involving children, suicides and thefts. It serves as a reminder for gun owners and their families to evaluate firearm storage practices and, if necessary, to take action and Make Sure It's Secure.

"Firearm safety is a foundational pillar of responsible gun ownership, which is why we were proud to be invited to participate in NSSF's Gun Storage Check Week campaign," said Jimmy McManus, Range USA COO. "With all 50 Range USA locations taking part, we have a real opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the firearm community — and that matters deeply to us and to our customers."

As part of this pilot program, each Range USA location has been provided with promotional materials courtesy of Project ChildSafe® — the largest, most comprehensive firearm safety education program in the U.S — which includes in-store signage promoting gun safety awareness, educational brochures and child safety pledges.

Any retailer or range can participate in Gun Storage Check Week. Those interested in participating are encouraged to create in-store activations through safety demonstrations and events to share the message of firearm safety. A Promotional Toolkit — which includes shareable graphics, digital ads, public service announcements and more — is freely available. More resources are available at GunStorageCheck.org.
