FastBound Launches TraceDesk for ATF Firearm Trace Compliance

FastBound has launched TraceDesk, a firearms compliance tool designed to help Federal Firearms Licensees respond to ATF firearm trace requests through FFL Direct while maintaining a clear audit trail and limiting data collection to what is legally required, addressing growing compliance and operational demands on FFLs.

TraceDesk modernizes how FFLs receive, respond to, and document firearm trace requests by reducing reliance on phone, fax, and email workflows with a centralized platform. The system supports automated receipt and response from FFL Direct trace requests and tracks manual trace correspondence in one place.

TraceDesk integrates seamlessly with FastBound's firearms compliance platform, automatically updating records when used together. FastBound is not required, however, and TraceDesk can be deployed as a standalone solution for FFLs that need dedicated trace management without changing their existing systems.

Unlike analytics or intelligence platforms, TraceDesk is intentionally designed as a compliance-only system. It does not aggregate or analyze trace data, profile customers, score risk, or provide recommendations related to firearm sales. TraceDesk stores only the minimum information required to meet ATF tracing obligations and treats trace requests strictly as legally required correspondence.

Whether an organization operates one FFL or hundreds, TraceDesk is built to support firearms businesses of all sizes, while maintaining clear separation of records and credentials for each license.

"Firearm trace requests are a compliance responsibility, not a business signal," said Jamison Collins, vice president at FastBound. "TraceDesk helps FFLs respond accurately and on time, without introducing new legal, political, or reputational risks through unnecessary data collection or interpretation."

The platform maintains a complete audit trail of trace requests and responses to support regulatory reviews and legal documentation. Trace data remains isolated within TraceDesk, with no external integrations, no data sharing, and no secondary use beyond compliance.

TraceDesk is designed for firearm retailers, dealers, gunsmiths, manufacturers, and distributors who need a reliable, defensible way to meet ATF trace requirements while protecting their federal firearms licenses and customer relationships.

TraceDesk is available now to FFLs nationwide. For additional information, call (833) 263-4473 or email sales@fastbound.com.
