CCI Names Thomas Thacker CEO of Azimuth Technology

Azimuth Technology has announced that its co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Len Zaiser IV, has relinquished his role at Azimuth Technology to pursue a new business venture with his son. Effective January 12, 2026, Chief Operations Officer Thomas ("Tommy") Thacker will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Azimuth Technology is the leading precision manufacturer of major firearms-related components, explosives detection equipment and other products used in defense, aerospace and the military. It is owned by Chumash Capital Investments, LLC, a wholly owned investment entity of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians.

"We extend our sincere appreciation to Len for his foundational leadership and for shaping Azimuth into a leader in precision manufacturing" said Kenneth Kahn, Tribal Chairman for the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. "We deeply appreciate his contributions over the last five years, following the company's acquisition by Chumash Capital Investments, and wish him every success in this exciting new opportunity. As we look ahead, we remain committed to advancing the organization. We are confident that, under Tommy's leadership, Azimuth will continue to drive innovation and realize robust growth."

Len commented, "Seeing Azimuth grow from its initial founding to its current position in the industry has been something I will always cherish. More importantly it is the people of Azimuth who made this company and I will miss seeing them every day."

Thacker, who had served as COO since joining the company in 2019, is a firearms industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in serving as CEO, president and other executive management roles. Prior to joining Azimuth Technology, he had success in various segments of the industry and held senior management positions with Ammo Inc., Armalite, Timney Manufacturing, FN America and DDA, LLC.

Thacker stated, "It is a privilege to succeed Len as the second Chief Executive Officer of Azimuth Technology. I am grateful for the foundation he built and for the Chumash's continued confidence. Our objectives are straightforward: take care of our people, execute with excellence, and deliver exceptional quality and reliability for our customers - every day."

Azimuth Technology's state-of-the-art facility provides process-engineering capabilities that are unique to the industry for complicated projects and designs. It holds a proud tradition of focusing on American manufacturing with a U.S.-based workforce and sourcing materials locally.
