Firearms Policy Coalition announced its strong opposition to the Department of Justice’s recently proposed merger of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with the Drug Enforcement Administration. The dangerous proposal would consolidate the ATF and DEA into an authoritarian “super-agency” with the combined powers to wage the failed war on drugs and enforce unconstitutional federal gun control laws against all Americans.

The FBI’s UCR Program released the "Officers Killed and Assaulted in the Line of Duty, 2024 Special Report" and data from the Law Enforcement Employee Counts on the FBI’s Crime Data Explorer. In 2024, 64 officers were feloniously killed in the line of duty. That is consistent with the number of officers feloniously killed the previous two years; however, the rate of assaults against officers increased from 2022 to 2024.

Michelle Lujan Grisham to not attempt to enforce her Public Health Order requiring the state’s Regulation and Licensing Division to conduct monthly inspections of licensed firearm retailers to ensure compliance with all sales and storage laws, in addition to unconstitutionally banning the Second Amendment right to bear arms in public spaces.
