Garmin International is seeking a Social Media Content Creator for its outdoor and marine markets. This individual must have a passion for hunting, fishing, hiking, and boating, and must be able to share those passions with the world. The Social Media Content Creator is responsible for the day-to-day social media content plan and will be required to curate and produce content across all social channels. While this person will be based in our Olathe, Kansas headquarters, they will travel considerably to tell the stories of those who use Garmin products to help them be better hunters and anglers.
Other essential functions include:
• Coordinate regular posting of content
• Develop and write content for Garmin social media channels and blogs
• Take compelling photos or short videos to complement blog posts
• Manage relationships with social influencers and ambassadors
• Travel to events or destinations for content
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or related degree relevant to the essential functions of this job description OR a minimum of 4 years experience performing a substantially similar role and 1 year of experience in social media at an agency or corporate setting is required.
Qualified candidates for this role will possess the following education, experience and skills:
• Must be able to provide writing samples
• Must be able to provide samples of photography and video
• Must demonstrate basic editing skills (still photography and video)
• Must demonstrate effective presentation skills
• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated writing skills and proficient knowledge of Associated Press style guidelines
• Demonstrates proficient knowledge of online/social media platforms
• Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to prioritize and work proactively with minimal supervision to achieve deadlines
• Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
• Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
• Demonstrated strong project management skills
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment.
