Ann Arbor, MI – Easterseals Michigan offers a variety of services to people with physical and mental disabilities. As COVID-19 drags into its second year, the number of people experiencing mental health issues due to the pandemic increases, which is a concerning trend. EOTECH® has teamed up with this vital organization to raise mental health awareness throughout May.
Easterseals Michigan's goal for this campaign is to have 5,000 people take a free, anonymous online mental health screening survey on their website. While online, participants will find a wealth of free educational resources. To achieve this lofty goal and promote its project, Easterseals Michigan receives support from community-minded companies, organizations and partners like EOTECH.
The "Get Screened! Mental Health Matters" campaign runs during May, Mental Health Month. EOTECH, a campaign sponsor, is committed to helping people take the free, anonymous mental screening on Easterseals Michigan's website. For every mental health screening completed on May 31st, EOTECH will generously donate $1 to help the organization reach and hopefully surpass its goal.
"EOTECH optics are a favorite of the military, law enforcement and other first responders, and people from these careers are known to suffer from depression and other mental health issues at levels higher than the national average," said Ed Schoppman, President of EOTECH. "So, there was a natural connection for us to become involved in this critical awareness campaign."
Schoppman added, "Of course we hope people from all walks of life will take the screening as depression is, sadly, all-too-common. Many mental health issues are treatable, and this screening will help people access the services they may need."
