Guncrafter’s CZ 75 in January GUNS Magazine

If you start with the raw material coming out of CZ’s hands, then treat it to world-class customization, what do you end up with? The answer lies in the rarefied work embodied by the team at Guncrafter Industries (GI). The January issue of GUNS features the stunning “re-imagineering” performed by Guncrafter on a CZ 75 SP-01 and CZ 75 Compact.

As part of GI’s “Executive Series,” the pistols sport an enhanced beavertail, color case- hardened frame, hot salt blue slide, Cajun Gun Works Pro Pack trigger work and much more. Roy Huntington proposes, “If you have a fixation on 1911s — and custom ones in general — I promise you it’s time to break out of the rut. Sometimes it pays to think outside the box.”

The fastest growing segment of the U.S. population is comprised of people over 65, and an astute gun manufacturer takes note of such trends and adapts accordingly. Jameson Parker believes the Walther CCP M2 .380 offers a robust, high-quality concealed pistol for those who have difficulty manipulating the slide on larger semi-autos or dealing with the recoil in “A Serious Carry Gun For ‘Seasoned’ Hands.”

January’s Firearms Package Giveaway is topped by a Walther Arms PPK/s Stainless chambered in .380 ACP. It maintains the original PPK’s classic features, but sports an extended grip, seven-round capacity and improved ergonomics. This month’s winner will also receive a Versacarry Comfort Flex Deluxe holster and a GUNS Magazine T-shirt from Nine Line Apparel. The package is valued at $920, and readers are encouraged to enter the free drawing online at GUNSMagazine.com/giveaways.

There’s more in January GUNS, including Campfire Tales’ “Everything Happens For A Reason Part II,” revealing how a young John Taffin heard the divine call to teach, move his family to Idaho and, inspired by Elmer Keither, carve out a gun-writing career. “If you’re in the market for a shotgun tougher than an overcooked steak,” Denny Hansen proposes in the Shotguns installment, “the Mossberg 590A1 won’t fail you.” Companies in the air gun market are focusing on creating mirror image air versions of common centerfire handguns and rifles. In the Air Power column, Tom McHale suggests the impressive replica air pistols offer a great option for at-home training in a cost-friendly package.

This month’s Online Exclusive, “Back On The Beat!” celebrates the return of American COP. GUNS Magazine digital subscriptions, as well as the January issue, are available for purchase at www.fmgpubs.com.
