Team Beretta Dominates at 2020 World FITASC, Providence Cup

(Accokeek, MD) Team Beretta shooters recently achieved 18 podium finishes in 8 different events during the 2020 World FITASC and Providence Cup at Providence Hill Farm in Jackson, MS.

Team Beretta members in attendance at this competition included Anthony Matarese, Diane Sorantino, Joseph Fanizzi, Desirae Edmunds, Zachary Kienbaum, Dominic Gross, and Meagan Harrington.

Matarese, shooting with a Beretta DT11 L, attained his first World FITASC HOA champion title with an exceptional score of 192 out of 200 targets, besting his nearest competitor by a margin of 6 targets. He also obtained an additional HOA champion, two runner-ups, and a third-place podium honor in the 5 Stand, FITASC Prelim, 5 Stand Prelim, and Sporting Prelim events with scores of 50/50, 47/50, 49/50, and 99/100, respectively.

Sorantino, who shoots with a Beretta A400 Xcel, achieved her second World FITASC Lady champion title with a superb score of 180 out of 200 targets. She also attained two additional ladies champion podium honors in the Providence Cup Main and Super Sporting events with scores of 98/100 and 94/100 and a ladies third-place podium honor in the Super Sporting Prelim event with a score of 95 targets out of 100.

Fanizzi, a junior team member who shoots with a Beretta A400 Xcel Sporting Black Edition, secured his first World FITASC Junior champion and Junior Team champion titles with a score of 185 out of 200 targets and a combined team score of 549/600. He also achieved two additional runner-up podium honors in the Providence Cup Main and Sporting Prelim events with scores of 99/100 and 100/100, respectively.

Edmunds obtained a World FITASC Lady third-place podium honor with a score of 175/200 targets and a World FITASC Lady Team champion title with a total team score of 503/600 targets. She also attained two ladies runner-up podium honors in the FITASC Prelim and Super Sporting events with scores of 44/50 and 91/100, respectively.

Kienbaum, shooting with a standard Beretta DT11, achieved a World FITASC Man Team champion title with a total team score of 724 out of 800 targets.

Gross and Harrington, both junior team members, competed against some tough competitors and placed in the top ten for each event that they were entered.

Team Beretta shooters will continue their season at the upcoming 2020 Southeast Regional Championship in Palm City, FL, from December 9-13, 2020.
