MidwayUSA Foundation Joins NSSF +ONE Movement

NEWTOWN, Conn. — MidwayUSA Foundation has signed on to be an official partner of the +ONE® Movement, a mentorship initiative developed by NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, that focuses on peer-to-peer-driven development in shooting sportsand hunting.

The +ONE Movement is an initiative developed by NSSF in response to studies showing millions of people want to know more about hunting and target shooting. The initiative encourages communities across the nation to participate in mentorship related to firearm safety, firearm basics, shooting sports and hunting.

The MidwayUSA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity working to sustain and grow shooting sports by providing long-term funding to youth shooting teams. Every donation made is tax-deductible and allows the foundation to assist in expanding and enhancing the leadership skills, confidence and discipline of today’s youth through shooting sports activities. They support all shooting disciplines.

“Collaborating with NSSF and becoming an official partner of the +ONE Movement is very exciting for us,” said Danielle Farris, MidwayUSA Foundation Marketing Manager. “The goal of this movement to introduce more of our youth to shooting sports aligns perfectly with the mission of the MidwayUSA Foundation, which is committed to helping communities fund their youth shooting teams and activities. Growth of shooting sports is not only a win for everyone involved in this partnership but for any organization in the outdoor industry.”

A major barrier for people wanting to learn about hunting and target shooting is that basic knowledge of them is not passed down from adults to youth as commonly as it once was. That’s where programs that inspire mentoring can make a huge difference. According to recent research, if just one out of three target shooters and hunters can introduce someone new to the shooting sports, they can help secure a strong future for generations to come.

MidwayUSA Foundation has served more than 2,800 youth shooting sports teams and over 71 state and national organizations, providing more than $248 million in youth shooting sports endowments. It’s encouraging to imagine the teams, organizations and communities it serves extending invitations to broader communities to learn about firearm safety, build marksmanship skills and discover the fun that shooting sports offer.

NSSF asks its member businesses, outdoor media and content creators on social media to help spread the word about the +ONE Movement, reminding everyone in the firearm-owning community that they can play a role in establishing a secure future for hunting and shooting sports.

For all the shooting sports and hunting have done to enrich your life, join the +ONE movement and invite someone to the range or afield. Learn more about the +ONE Movement on LetsGoHunting.org and LetsGoShooting.org.
