WCP320 Featured In Jan/Feb Handgunner

It starts with raw, un-machined slides, choice barrels and fire control units from SIG SAUER’s P320 platform. Wilson Combat then machines the raw slide blanks into functional and precise works of art. When complete, slide and barrel are treated with a touch and durable black DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) physical vapor deposition finish. All of this is assembled into the Wilson Combat P320 Carry grip module featured in the Jan/Feb issue of American Handgunner.

Editor Tom McHale lends, “I had no trouble keeping this handgun under control, even with a more relaxed grip. After the smoke cleared, I figured out this pistol will shoot. The Wilson Combat TAC-XP +P won the day with a 0.71" five-shot group.”

They said it couldn’t be done … but Ernest Langdon did it. In “Impossible Engineering,” Massad Ayoob reveals how Langdon devised a way to get an optical sight on the Beretta 92 — a feat previously unimaginable due to the gun’s open-top slide. Ayoob reports: “I’ve been shooting red dot sights on handguns since they came out. This new combination of the Langdon Beretta and its very low-mounted SRO optic to come to my eye faster than any carry optic and pistol combination I’ve worked with yet.”

The ALTOR Pistols up for grabs in the Handgun Of The Month giveaway may look different, but are “beautifully made” and “work every time.” The giveaway includes two models, one chambered in .380 ACP and the other in 9mm Luger. The winner will also receive a DPX HEST/F Urban G10 knife from DPX Gear and a PROTAC 1L-AA flashlight from Streamlight. Altogether, the package is valued at nearly $600. Readers are encouraged to enter the free drawing at AmericanHandgunner.com/giveaways.

More standouts from the Jan/Feb issue include Greg Derr’s primer on “Barrel-Ology” in the Pistolsmithing installment. Not all barrels are created equal, but when it comes to changing one out there are plenty of choices for replacement. Misunderstandings are rampant among the general public these days; in Cop Talk, Massad Ayoob offers truths about police use of force. And fans of Nighthawk Custom rejoice: The company’s custom knives befit their fine 1911s as Pat Covert details in “Nighthawk Strikes!”
