Lincoln, Neb. --- The Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers (AGLOW), a national nonprofit organization that has championed outdoor communicators, brands, and industry stakeholders since 1956, is proud to announce the launch of its newly redesigned website, https://aglowoutdoors.com. The new platform reflects AGLOW’s ongoing commitment to connecting media professionals, destinations, and corporate partners who share a mutual passion for the outdoors.
Built on a custom WordPress framework, the redesigned site features a clean, modern look tailored to AGLOW’s brand identity. By eliminating unnecessary code, the new structure significantly improves site performance. Navigation has been carefully reorganized to simplify access for members, conference attendees, and partners to resources, event details, and organizational news.
The site’s architecture has been redesigned with search engine optimization in mind, enhancing the metadata structure and adhering to best practices to boost the visibility of AGLOW’s content online. Load times have also been significantly reduced through media asset optimization and minimized plugin use, providing a faster, smoother experience across all devices and connection speeds. Additionally, the website is now hosted on a more secure and scalable platform, ensuring greater uptime, improved data protection, and the flexibility to grow with AGLOW’s evolving digital needs.
According to Executive Director Kevin Paulson, "The new AGLOW website builds on the solid foundation of our previous platform, while introducing a modern, streamlined experience that reflects the evolving needs of our members. We've focused on creating a faster, easier-to-use interface that not only strengthens connections within our community but also better showcases the exceptional work of our members and the incredible opportunities AGLOW provides."
AGLOW continues to celebrate excellence in outdoor communication through its Awards-in-Craft platform, recognizing outstanding work in writing, photography, broadcasting, and digital content. This year’s winners will be honored during the Awards-in-Craft ceremony at the 2025 AGLOW Conference in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
