Walk the Talk America (WTTA) founder and CEO Michael Sodini will deliver a keynote at the 2026 Wyoming Suicide Prevention Symposium, held September 15 and 16 at the Wyoming State Capitol in Cheyenne. Hosted by the Wyoming Injury and Violence Prevention Program under the theme "Stronger Together: Building Networks of Hope," the symposium brings together clinicians, researchers, community leaders, and individuals with lived experience. Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon is also slated to speak.
Sodini and WTTA Chief Strategy Officer Kevin Berry will be joined by ROOTS Project partners B.O.S. Lock and Regal Products. The ROOTS Project, short for Responsible Ownership Outreach, Technology, and Safety, is a consortium of firearm safety technology companies working to connect that innovation with the healthcare providers and community organizations positioned to put it to work.
B.O.S. Lock produces a biometric slide lock that secures a handgun against unauthorized use while allowing an authorized user access in under half a second. Regal Products develops innovative firearm safety solutions, from the original firearm cable lock to biometric security and the SecureMe® family of smart storage solutions, that balance security with immediate access when it matters most.
WTTA and its ROOTS partners will also host a table throughout the event, where attendees can handle the devices and pick up WTTA resources including free anonymous mental health screenings, secure storage guidance, and the organization's gun-friendly therapist directory.
"Prevention professionals and firearm owners have spent too long talking past each other," said Sodini. "The fastest way to close that gap is to put the actual products on a table and let people see what modern secure storage looks like. Wyoming is exactly the kind of room where that matters."
