Remington Ammunition announces it has added a new cartridge to its Premier AccuTip centerfire rifle product lineup. From its patented Power Port tip to its optimized-for-expansion core, Premier AccuTip delivers match-grade accuracy and outstanding on-game performance. The new straight-wall cartridge centerfire load is 400 Legend 195-grain with a muzzle velocity of 2,215 feet per second. The product is now available at dealers nationwide.

"Our 12- and 20-gauge AccuTip slugs have proven themselves on big game as accurate and lethal big game projectiles, so utilizing that same AccuTip technology in a centerfire rifle cartridge is simply incredible," said Kris Carson, Remington's Centerfire Ammunition Product Director. The 400 Legend is a centerfire, straight-walled rifle cartridge that features a nominal .400-inch bullet diameter and uses a rimless, rebated-rim case design optimized for both bolt-action rifles and modern sporting rifle platforms like the AR-15. The 400 Legend fills the gap between the smaller 350 Legend and the heavier 450 Bushmaster, offering a balanced middle-ground option for hunters. It can also be legal for deer hunting in some states where traditional bottleneck cartridges are not allowed.

Its jacket is made from hard cartridge-case brass alloy, with precision nose cuts that enable consistent energy transfer and deadly terminal expansion across a wide range of velocities.
