KDG is preparing to begin shipping commercial orders of its new BOM Series Optic Mounts in approximately three weeks, introducing a modular mounting platform designed to change the way shooters think about optic mounts, height selection and long-term adaptability.

Building on more than a decade of KDG innovation and the success of the company's SideLok™ optic mounting system, the BOM Series takes a different approach to optic mounting. Rather than creating another fixed-height mount, KDG designed BOM around a modular ecosystem that allows the mount to adapt to the shooter, the optic and the equipment being used.

At the center of that system is the ability to configure the optic at either 1.57" or 1.93" right out of the box.

Instead of requiring shooters to purchase a completely different mount when their preferred optic height changes, BOM gives them the ability to raise or lower their optic using the same mounting system.

One Mount. Two Heights. Built to Adapt.

Modern rifle configurations continue to evolve. Night vision, lasers, magnifiers, protective equipment and individual shooting styles can all influence where a shooter wants an optic positioned.

Historically, changing that position has often meant purchasing another mount at a different fixed height.

BOM changes that.

Every BOM Series configuration includes the components necessary to move between 1.57" and 1.93", giving the shooter two of the most popular optic heights from a single mounting platform.

"The BOM Series is about giving the end user more control over how their rifle is configured," said Chris Bardugone, Director of Sales & Marketing at KDG. "Your gear changes. The way you use the rifle can change. Your optic mount should be able to adapt with you. Giving the shooter both 1.57 and 1.93 inches right out of the box changes the traditional idea that optic height has to be a permanent decision."

That philosophy is at the core of what KDG intends BOM to become: not simply another family of optic mounts, but an expandable modular optic-mounting ecosystem.

ACRO, Aimpoint COA, Micro T1/T2 and RMR

The first commercial BOM Series offerings will cover four major optic configurations:

• ACRO footprint
• Aimpoint COA
• Micro T1/T2 footprint
• RMR footprint

All four configurations are scheduled to begin shipping commercial orders in approximately three weeks.

The inclusion of a dedicated Aimpoint COA solution is particularly significant. The COA has primarily been associated with pistol applications, and the BOM Series provides a purpose-built option for users looking to bring the Aimpoint COA onto a rifle platform while taking advantage of BOM's dual-height architecture.

The addition of Micro T1/T2 and RMR footprint versions dramatically expands the number of optics that can take advantage of the BOM platform, while the ACRO configuration provides support for one of the increasingly popular enclosed-emitter optic footprints.

Rather than designing the system around individual optic models, KDG is continuing the footprint-driven philosophy previously established across its optic-mounting portfolio—giving shooters greater flexibility and making the platform relevant across a broader range of current and future optics.

More Than an Optic Mount — A Growing Ecosystem

The initial four configurations are only the beginning.

KDG designed the BOM architecture from the start with expansion in mind. Following the initial release, 30mm and 34mm ring configurations are planned to join the BOM Series, extending the modular concept beyond red dots and into traditional magnified optics.

Additional optic footprints and configurations are already being developed for Q1 2027, with KDG planning to continue expanding the BOM ecosystem as new optics and mounting requirements enter the market.

"What customers are seeing with the first BOM mounts is really the foundation of where we're taking this platform," Bardugone continued. "ACRO, COA, Micro and RMR give us a strong starting point, but BOM was engineered to grow. The 30mm and 34mm rings are coming next, and we already have additional footprints planned for Q1. We want someone buying into BOM today to know that they are buying into an ecosystem that will continue to expand."

The Next Evolution of KDG Optic Mounting

KDG entered the dedicated optic-mount category with SideLok, a tool-less quick-disconnect system designed around speed, repeatability and ease of use.

BOM builds on KDG's experience in optic mounting while addressing a different requirement.

Where SideLok provides shooters with a fast, tool-less quick-disconnect mounting solution, BOM delivers a hard-mount platform built around modularity, configurable height and future expansion.

Commercial Orders Shipping in Three Weeks

Commercial orders for the BOM Series ACRO, Aimpoint COA, Micro T1/T2 and RMR configurations are scheduled to begin shipping in approximately three weeks.

The upcoming 30mm and 34mm ring configurations will follow, with additional BOM Series footprints and mounting options planned for Q1 2027.
