Walk the Talk America (WTTA) announced today that it is partnering with Pot of Gold Auctions to host its next fundraiser auction, opening October 13. The organization is now inviting firearms industry leaders to donate items ahead of the event.
WTTA is a nonprofit dedicated to advancing a more responsible model of gun ownership, one that treats mental health as a core part of firearm safety. Through education, advocacy and partnerships across the firearms community, WTTA works to shift the conversation around gun ownership so mental well being is treated with the same seriousness as safe handling and storage.
"This auction gives the industry a direct way to stand behind that mission," said Michael Sodini, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Walk the Talk America. "Every item donated helps us reach gun owners with resources that can genuinely save lives."
Past auctions have featured donated firearms, ammunition, accessories, gear and memorabilia from industry partners. Proceeds fund WTTA's ongoing mental health initiatives, including outreach aimed at addressing the more than 74 lives lost each day to firearm suicide in the United States.
How the Industry Can Help
WTTA is asking companies and individuals in the firearms industry to:
- Donate an item or items to the October auction
- Help spread awareness of the fundraiser within their networks
Organizations interested in contributing are asked to notify WTTA by September 1 to receive instructions for submitting items. All donated items must be received by October 1 ahead of the auction's October 13 launch.
