Dealer Adoption of Kinect Mounting System Reflects Growing Demand for Tool-Free Rifle Modularity

Seymour, CT — As shooters continue to refine how they configure modern rifle platforms, retailers across the country are reporting sustained interest in the Kinect™ Series from Kinetic Development Group.

Originally developed as a way to simplify how accessories attach to M-LOK handguards, the Kinect system has become a staple within the KDG product lineup and continues to gain traction among dealers and end users who value both modularity and reliability.

Many retailers note that the initial appeal of Kinect often comes from its simplicity. Traditional M-LOK accessories rely on screws and T-nuts that must be carefully aligned and tightened into place using tools. While this method provides a secure interface, it can make even minor configuration changes time-consuming—particularly when shooters want to reposition accessories or experiment with different setups.

The Kinect system eliminates this friction by introducing a tool-free mounting interface that allows accessories to attach directly to the rail with the press of a finger.

Once installed, the mount deploys internal locking wedges that secure the accessory firmly within the M-LOK slot. This mechanism creates a stable connection between the accessory and the rail while distributing load across the slot to maintain strength under recoil and heavy use.

According to KDG, many dealers report that customers are initially surprised by how solid the mount feels once engaged.

"Our dealers consistently tell us that customers come in curious about the tool-free feature," said Chris Bardugone, Director of Sales and Marketing at KDG. "But what really wins them over is the stability of the system. Once installed, it performs just like a traditional hard mount."

Retailers also note that the system appeals to a broad range of shooters—from enthusiasts building their first modular rifle to experienced users who frequently adjust their equipment.

One of the most common use cases involves accessories such as weapon lights and Picatinny rail adapters. These items are often repositioned to optimize ergonomics, and the ability to move them quickly without tools allows shooters to fine-tune their setup in seconds.

For dealers, this adaptability has made Kinect an easy product to demonstrate in-store. A quick press-to-lock installation allows customers to immediately see how the system works and understand its advantages over traditional mounting hardware.

"The moment someone installs a Kinect mount themselves, the value becomes obvious," Bardugone said. "It's one of those products where the experience speaks for itself."

As modular rifle platforms continue to dominate the firearms market, dealers report that shooters are increasingly interested in accessories that enhance flexibility without sacrificing durability.

For KDG, the continued adoption of the Kinect system reflects a broader shift toward mounting solutions that prioritize both performance and ease of use.
