Shooting Industry January Prepares Dealers For Success

Rounding out the pair of 2019 New Business Year Editions that began with the December 2018 issue, Shooting Industry’s January 2019 issue is a definitive resource to boost early-year sales for dealers. This 108-page issue is filled with timely articles ranging from marketing insights and SHOT Show 2019 coverage to tips for success in the new year. The issue is further enhanced by the one-of-a-kind 2019 New Product Showcase, with representation from 115 brands.

“Charting A Path Forward In The New Year” offers insights to overcoming the biggest challenges dealers face today, opportunities for growth and strategies to maintain a competitive edge.

“2019 will require strategic purchasing and staying on top of buying trends for sure,” lends Clay Ausley of Fuquay Gun in North Carolina.“Those store owners who are truly paying attention to the customers’wants and needs will be the winners in 2019 as they have been in 2018.”

Having a marketing plan is particularly beneficial to shooting-related businesses where the sales climate can change quickly. FMG Publications Online Editor Mark Kakkuri outlines “3 Steps Toward A Strategic, Published Marketing Plan” to develop, implement or enhance a plan suitable for any business model.

“A marketing plan — at its simplest — is just an extended, more detailed version of the guts and determination you pour into your business every day,” he explains.

Shooting Industry’s extensive SHOT Show coverage continues with this issue, featuring the Exhibitors Guide, information on the SHOT Show Auction and a sizable pullout map in the printed editions. (A full review of the industry’s 2019 mega event will appear online and in SI’s April 2019 issue.)

Other highlights found in January include Part Two of Shari LeGate’s series on social video marketing. In the series’ conclusion, LeGate advises how to build a local audience with easy-to-use platforms and why “keeping it simple” is the best approach. “9 Tips To Success”outlines tactics and new segments to explore in the new year. Comprised of 30 pages, the 2019 New Product Showcase closes out the New Business Year Editions with scores of products primed to increase early-year sales.
