NEW YORK –– Crate Club announced it has donated $18,000 to the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation to assist the organization in bringing education and recreation to veterans and their families. The donation was collected during a special Veterans Day promotion where all proceeds from the sale of select crate purchases were set aside for the charity.
During the Veterans Day weekend, 100 percent of the profits from first-time crate purchases or crate upgrades were collected and donated to the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation. The promotion was valid from November 8-12.
Glen Doherty was a U.S. Navy SEAL CIA GRS Operator and one of the four Americans killed in the terror attack in Benghazi on September 11, 2012. The Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charity organization that exists to honor his life and beliefs. Created to bring education and recreation to those in need, the foundation gives current and former Special Operations professionals, from all branches of the government, the means necessary to transition and succeed in civilian life. The foundation also enables the children and families of these soldiers to mature and grow through recreation.
"A part of Hurricane's mission statement is to create awareness and contribute to veteran non-profits," said Crate Club CEO and gear curator Brandon Webb. "In 2017 alone that mission included support for 18 charitable organizations. And we're planning to do even more in the coming year. Our Veterans Day promotion allowed us to raise a significant sum for the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation, and it's even more significant because Glen was a close friend of mine. We were honored that so many of our customers joined us in supporting an organization that's doing so much good for our veterans."
