Under general supervision, provide, maintain, and support all aspects of CTC firearm related needs. Provide firearm and safety related training, advice, and information to employees. Insure company and employee compliance to all federal, state and company policies and adherence to best safety practices. Maintain armory to insure safe and functional inventory of firearms, performing gunsmithing activities as necessary.
Essential Functions
Armory/Gunsmith
Responsible for ensuring company and employee compliance to all federal, ATF, and state firearm laws, as well as corporate policies regarding company firearms.
Manage and accurately maintain CTC ATF Acquisition and Disposition and Destruction records using Vbound system.
Manage, maintain, and track CTC's firearm checkout, transfer, and destruction processes in compliance with ATF and company policies and requirements using the Armorerlink system.
· Perform quarterly compliance ATF type audits and insure compliant bound book backup copies are created.
Manage and coordinate the preparation, allocation, issuing and transportation of all firearms, firearm accessories, and related materials, for company sponsored events including: R&D, beta testing, photo shoots, trade shows and live fire events.
Responsible for acquiring and/or coordinating the acquisition of all company owned firearms and related accessories. Collaborate with requestor, respective department head, shipping, and purchasing to ensure all acquisition protocols are met.
Inspect, maintain, and repair all company owned firearms to ensure their safe and reliable operating condition.
Maintain a preventative maintenance program for all company firearms.
Maintain adequate supply of ammunition to support ongoing company shooting activities.
Assist in preparing annual armory budget.
Safety/Training/Education
Responsible for ensuring all company required firearm and safety training/education is provided in accordance with company policy.
Provide pro-active and regular instruction, guidance and assistance relating to proper company firearm handling, safety, security, live-fire, and transportation requirements. Create new classes and instruction to meet evolving company endeavors.
Assist in the continuing development of educational and training materials and opportunities to teach, inform, and grow the company's firearm industry culture for all employees.
Train Sales, Marketing and other employees to be certified NRA Range Safety Officers.
Range
Provide general oversight for the company firing range.
Administer, monitor, and actively help enforce range safety rules and procedures.
Provide range instruction on access, usage, health and safety.
Provide general coordination and oversight of range cleaning and maintenance. Manage daily/weekly janitorial standards and processes.
Participate in R&D testing in support of engineering and manufacturing activities as requested.
Oversee and maintain all range logs - tracking usage, bullet count, preventative maintenance and mechanical issues. Develop, maintain, and provide monthly reports as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Associates Degree or equivalent.
· Current NRA certification as a Chief Range Safety Officer and NRA instructor for Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun. Additional NRA certifications desirable.
· High level of proficiency with handguns and long guns.
Minimum 5 years' experience with firearm proficiency, instruction, repair and range operations.
Skilled in use of hand tools. Lathe and Milling machine experience desirable.
Factory Certified Gunsmith for multiple brands.
Able to demonstrate working knowledge and proficiency in developing, implementing, communicating, and enforcing safety practices and policies as they relate to the firearms industry.
Organized, methodical. Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time, and work well under pressure.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and project a positive image.
Ability to provide clear and concise instructions and knowledge.
Ability to be proactive, think creatively, and effectively troubleshoot and solve problems.
Demonstrate integrity, reliability and solid judgment at all times.
Must be patient, levelheaded, with great attention to detail.
Trained in advanced First Aid and Trauma Injury care. CPR/AED certified.
Must possess fine-motor skills to work effectively and efficiently with small parts.
Working knowledge of Windows environment, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel required.
Solid customer service and communications skills, both written and verbal.
Work Environment:
Duties are usually performed in a general office and workshop environment and occasionally at indoor and outdoor range environments. May be exposed to fumes or dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, and moderate to loud noise levels associated with firing ranges and firearms. Duties require extended periods of standing, walking, sitting and talking. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds on occasion and up to 25 pounds on a regular basis. Job requires concentrated visual attention for sustained periods of time.
