Last weekend at the Southern Utah Practical Shooting range in Hurricane, UT, the first major match of the 3 gun season was held. 152 shooters battled over two days and 8 challenging courses of fire to see who would come out on top and be the 2015 3 Gun Nation Western Regional Champion.

After completing the 8 stages with rifle targets out to 335 yards, slug targets out to 150 yards, and a 40 round shotgun stage, Craig Outzen handed out an austere beat down to all comers. The next closest shooter was 30 seconds behind him and the next closest shooter in Outzen's division was 35 seconds behind him. Outzen had four stage wins and all the rest were top five finishes.

Outzen wasn't the only MGM Targets sponsored shooter to have a good showing at the season opening event. Also in Open division, Chuck Anderson finished 5th and Wyatt Gibson was 6th and High Junior. Both of these shooters also won a stage.

In the Scoped Tactical division, MGM had three shooters in the top 10. Brian Nelson finished 6th, and took home top Junior, John Mouret was right behind him in 7th, and Travis Gibson came back to Scoped Tactical from shooting Open division for the last year and a half to finish a solid 9th. Just outside of the top 10 in 12th position was Scott McGregor.
