Sig Sauer Returns as a Major Sponsor of 2014 USPSA World Speed Shooting Championships

St. George, Utah - The United States Practical Shooting Association announces Sig Sauer will return to the World Speed Championships as the Major Match sponsor for 2014. Sig Sauer's sponsorship will provide a portion of the $25,000 in cash prizes that go to the match winners. Additionally Sig Sauer will award firearm certificates to the winners in the Limited and Single Stack divisions as well as sponsor the Military Category award.

"Sig Sauer has been a staple of the USPSA World Speed Shooting Championships," said USPSA executive director Kim Williams. "The support they provide is amazing - they really care about the sport and the competitors. Max is phenomenal to watch and is such a great guy to work with. He is a real asset to the shooting community!"

Sig Sauer Shooting Team Captain Max Michel Jr. is the current World Speed Shooting Champion. In the 2013 World Speed Shooting Championships he set 4 new stage World Records as well as the new world record overall time.

The World Speed Shooting Championship follows the USPSA Steel Challenge rule set and consists of eight stages, each with five steel plates set in different arrangements. Competitors compete to hit all plates in the fastest cumulative time.
