MGM Targets Provides Steel For Babes With Bullets Camps

MGM Targets proudly announces multiyear sponsorship of Babes with Bullets™.

Babes with Bullets™, a series of three day camps offering firearms training programs for women was co-founded in 2004 by Deb Ferns and Kay Miculek. Deb became involved in action shooting sports at age 45, and is now an active multi-gun competitor (combination of rifle, pistol and shotgun.) Deb's background as a corporate meeting planner, with an MBA in marketing, gave her a skill set well suited to becoming the camp director. Deb's partner, and head instructor for the camps, is Kay Miculek. Kay has been involved in shooting sports all her life starting with her family's operation of Clark Custom Guns. She has been a top ranked female athlete in the action shooting sports for over 20 years with dozens of national multi-gun titles and world handgun championships as well.

The number of women interested in shooting sports has grown greatly in recent years and due in no small part to Ferns, Miculek and their senior instructor, Lisa Munson. This team has been the backbone of Babes with Bullets (BwB) for nearly ten years. The BwB camps are now held across the US, offering three day firearms training programs for women who have little to no experience. Many of the camps also reach out to women who have some handgun experience and want a "combo" program to learn about AR-15 rifles and shotguns. Every camp is taught by women, each have their own list of action shooting sports titles.

The camps have continued to grow to over 3,100 camper alumnae who range in ages from 16 to 78 years. Upcoming BwB events include the 1st Annual Babes with Bullets 3-Gun Challenge, August 22nd - 25th at the Rockcastle Shooting Center in Park City, KY. MGM Targets marketing manager, Kevin Murphy stated, "MGM is proud to facilitate many matches around the US through sponsorship and supplying of our steel targets. Being involved with Babes with Bullets was a unique opportunity to support the growing number of women shooters. The leadership and example set in the industry by Babes with Bullets is impressive! We're glad to be affiliated with these ladies.". The number of women interested in shooting sports has grown greatly in recent years and is due in no small part to Ferns and Babes With Bullets.
