OGDEN, Utah: Setpoint Ammunition, a company recently launched by Setpoint Systems Inc., announced the opening of their custom precision ammunition ordering system and manufacturing facility.

Setpoint Ammunition manufactures custom rifle ammunition built to the demanding tolerances that are required in precision sporting and tactical shooting applications. Through the www.setpointammo.com website, consumers are able to create their own cartridge "recipe" by choosing the specific components to be used as well as dictating the exact powder charge and overall cartridge length that best suits their needs, at competitive pricing.

Previously this level of customization, of precision ammunition could only be achieved by hand-loading cartridges, which can be tedious, complicated and expensive. Setpoint's website allows the customer to create their recipe and order customized ammo in a quantity as small as one box, allowing gradual tuning adjustments within the cartridge/firearm performance matrix. The automated system builds the cartridges to the recipe on a manufacturing line that was designed and built by Setpoint Systems.

Setpoint Systems has developed innovative manufacturing equipment in a variety of industries, including pyrotechnics and ammunition manufacturing systems.

"Our experience in pyrotechnics and case manufacturing made it a natural fit for Setpoint to develop an ammunition system," said Steve Nuetzman, VP of Engineering.
Nuetzman, also Setpoint's resident ballistics expert and an avid sport shooter, explained the unique elements of the Setpoint Ammunition model.

"The tolerances that we're held to in other industries are much tighter than what you generally find in commercial ammunition. By applying tighter tolerances to an automated line, we're able to improve the consistency and consequently the accuracy of the cartridges. When you combine that with the adjustable recipes that we offer, everyone can have easy access to all the great features of hand-loading without building an ammo plant in the basement."

Setpoint Ammunition's initial offering is limited to the popular long-range standard 7.62x51/.308 WIN cartridge. Additional cartridge selections are expected to be announced in the near future.
