Assist in the development and implementation of channel marketing programs which extend the strategic direction and primary initiatives surrounding the S&W and affiliate brands. Implement campaigns / programs with the specific goal of leveraging channel relationships to assure sales revenue growth and market share gain. The position requires extensive interaction with field sales personnel, customers, marketing and product management teams as well as executive management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conceptualizing, developing and implementing multi-faceted programs and promotions, aligned with key sales, marketing and brand initiatives, leveraged across targeted channels driving overall sales and market share gain
Ensuring programs are aligned with strategic priorities of the business while delivering on overall corporate objectives
Understanding business drivers within each channel through contact with key stakeholders both internal (sales management) and external (customers); acting as liaison between channel & marketing department to ensure alignment on mutually held objectives
Delivering highly disciplined and organized approach to project management, often within tight timeframes; coordinating with sales management, brand and marketing communications, product management, as well as finance and other departments as necessary including customers to achieve targeted results
Working with sales, marketing communications, product management and other departments and 3rd party resources to execute timely, effective and actionable communications which achieve desired results for all channels
Working with the product management team to help drive product launch process and ensure channel deliverables are met as directed by overall launch plan; managing process to assure 100% on-time introductions
Developing metrics for all promotions and launch plans; communicating to all necessary stakeholders; tracking and reporting results for quantitative and qualitative post analysis; utilizing information for re-alignment of critical programs to deliver anticipated results
Assisting in preparation and presentation of annual CM budget for all brand & product programs / promotions; working with finance department to assure accuracy and marketing team to incorporate into overall marketing budget; managing monthly expenditures to assure annual budgets are maintained
Interfacing with operations department on S&OP planning; providing projected "lift" and timeline for specific programs that will influence production / run rates; educating and communicating new programs to all internal departments to assure comprehensive understanding of objective, tactics and projected outcome of programs
Assisting with coordination of promotional material development as defined in annual marketing / business plan and as directed by management team; coordinating with in-house design services and external resources and coordinating distribution of materials to target audience and process invoicing to assure proper budget capture
Monitoring and reporting regularly on competitive promotional activity within all channels to affect developing or currently running programs
Managing transfer of authorized FFL database to official company URL to assure proper dealer listings Maintaining up-to-date electronic communication file of all FFL's to assure timely and complete communication as necessary to complete targeted CMM responsibilities
Coordinating domestic training for retail associates 3.5 and DSM-led Armorer certification, including; maintaining of all contact files to assure accurate communication , confirming of scheduling, processing of support materials, dealer tracking and dashboard reporting
Understanding and leveraging "best practices" in development, execution and assessment of all CM activities

Education and Experience:
BS in Marketing or Management required, MBA preferred
Minimum of 6 years' experience in sales and/or marketing – preference within sporting or hard goods industry
Competencies and Skills:
Good command of the English language in both verbal and written skills
Exceptional skills in MS Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point.
Self-starting team player with a keen eye for the details – consistency of reporting and financial accuracy; strong financial accountability
Proven success in developing and managing targeted sales & marketing programs / activities

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:
Within the Smith & Wesson manufacturing facility, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting.
Work environment is similar to most manufacturing operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.
