Team Safariland Member Julie Golob Wins Gold Medal in Classic Division of 2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot XVIII in Châteauroux France Teammates Robert Vogel Wins Silver in Standard Division, Mike Voigt Wins Silver with Senior Open Division Team

ONTARIO, California – Safariland®, a brand of The Safariland Group, praises Team Safariland member Julie Golob on her Classic Division win at the 2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot XVIII, August 27 – September 3 in Châteauroux, France. Golob bested a field of 13 women who qualified in the division from around the globe, receiving a 100 percent category score, beating the second-place contender by nearly eight percent.

Team Safariland Member Robert Vogel surpassed more than 370 competitors to win the Standard Division's silver medal. Team Safariland Member Mike Voigt took home a silver medal with the Senior Open Division Team.

The 2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot XVIII included 30 stages divided into five areas, with each area being named and themed after one of the five continents Africa, Asia, America, Australia and Europe.

"In IPSC, the shooter must be completely on their game, making every shot count," said Golob. "Their gear must meet the demands. My Performance Center 9mm 1911 in my Safariland rig ran flawlessly over the six days of competition in both mid 90s heat with high humidity and rain in the 50s. With the peace of mind my gear provides, I can always focus 100 percent on my performance."

Golob is an American professional markswoman, competition shooter and National/World champion. She began her shooting career at 14, practicing with her father, Pete Goloski. After joining the United States Army in 1994 with the acceptance of the Army Action Shooting Team, she began competing and was soon named U.S. Army Athlete of the Year. Her notable shooting achievements have continued since then. Golob competed with the Safariland 032 ELS Belt, Model 5198 Holster and a mix of 771 and 773 Mag Pouches. Her next competition is the NSSF Rimfire World Championships.

Vogel is a professional marksman, competition shooter, and National/World champion. He is the only law enforcement officer ever to win World and National Championships in the Practical Pistol Disciplines of IPSC, IDPA and USPSA. Vogel competed with the Safariland 032 ELS Belt, Model 5198 Holster and 773 Mag Pouches. His next competition is the USPSA Ryan Rocks Charity Blast, July 8-9 at the Livingston Gun Club in Brighton, Mich.

Taking the Senior Medal with the Open Division Team is 13-time USPSA MultiGun National Champion Mike Voigt. Voigt has been one of the top action shooters in the world for the past 30 years with additional titles in world and national titles in handgun, shotgun, rifle and multigun.

Safariland is proud of every Team Safariland Member and congratulates Golob, Vogel and Voigt on their IPSC Handgun World Shoot wins. For more information about Safariland, please visit
