FMG Partners With Curtis Circulation Company

FMG Publications has partnered with distribution giant Curtis Circulation Company to expand newsstand circulation of American Handgunner and GUNS Magazine beginning with current issues of these popular gun enthusiast publications.

"We're excited with the possibilities our partnership with Curtis Circulation Company offers," said Thomas Hollander, vice president of operations for FMG Publications. "They are the major player in mainline newsstand distribution, and Curtis' assets and expertise can extend our distribution into new and larger territories and outlets."

Curtis Circulation Company controls over 40 percent of the mainline newsstand rack products. They're the leading national distributor of magazines, with retail sales exceeding $650 million per year.

"Curtis is honored to have been named the national distributor for the full line of FMG Publications. American Handgunner and GUNS Magazine are among the most longstanding and well respected titles in the firearms category. We look forward to working toward expanding upon the great success the line has achieved on the newsstand over the years," stated Michelle Ingenito, Senior VP, publisher services and sales development.

According to Ingenito, Curtis' mission is to bring client publishers' publications to the single copy marketplace as efficiently as possible, while providing maximum sales performance. "We do this by utilizing our extensive sales force and the most experienced management group in the industry," she said.

Curtis is the largest sales and marketing organization in the industry, whose professional staff covers all major markets every week (most daily), representing over 98 percent of all magazine sales.

"The newsstand is more focused than ever, with readers expecting high quality and timely topics," said Roy Huntington, publisher of FMG's consumer titles. "They place importance on production quality as well as editorial integrity and expert writers. American Handgunner, GUNS Magazine — plus our special editions — check all of those boxes and more. Every issue is chock-full of great photos, new editorial and topics readers simply won't find in other main-stream gun magazines."

GUNS Magazine was the first firearms-focused magazine to be sold on the newsstand beginning in 1955. American Handgunner is currently celebrating 40 years as the number one resource of handgun enthusiasts. It was introduced on the newsstands as the first all-handgun magazine in 1976.

Curtis clients include: Forbes, The Enthusiast Network (TEN), Hi-Torque Publications, Inc., Pro Football Weekly and others.
