GLOCK Donates to the National Rifle Association at the 145th NRA Annual Meeting

SMYRNA, Ga. – GLOCK, Inc. made significant donations at the recent 145th NRA Annual Meeting in Louisville, Ky. The donation ceremony was attended by industry media, representatives from different divisions of the National Rifle Association, and representation from the Scholastic Shooting Sport Foundation (SSSF).

Josh Dorsey, Vice President at GLOCK, presented the checks on May 20, 2016, at the GLOCK booth (#4239).  Accepting for the NRA was NRA President, Allan D. Cors and the NRA Executive Director of General Operations, Kyle Weaver. The NRA Whittington Center and Whittington Adventure Camp were represented by Executive Director, Wayne Armacost. Glen Hoyer, Director of the NRA Law Enforcement Division accepted the annual donation of 30 GLOCK pistols.

In honor of GLOCK's 30th Anniversary in the United States, GLOCK presented the NRA National Firearms Museum with one of the 30 custom engraved GLOCK 17 Gen4 pistols, engraved by Master Engraver, Mark Hoechst. Accepting the one-of-a-kind pistol was NRA Museums Director, Jim Supica and Senior Curator, Philip Scheier.

"I vividly remember, as a new Curator at the NRA, when GLOCK donated a factory cut-away to us," said Scheier. "It was the newest and most modern gun that we had in the collection for quite awhile. Now, 27 years later, we are delighted and proud to have received this 30th Anniversary pistol. A physical reminder of the special relationship that GLOCK, the NRA and the NRA Museums have had from the beginning."


1.    $50,000 to the National Rifle Association (NRA)

Since 2010, GLOCK has donated $350k to the NRA, America's foremost defender of Second Amendment rights; the organization advocates for the promotion of firearm ownership, as well as marksmanship, firearm safety and the protection of hunting and self-defense in the United States.

2.    $50,000 to the NRA Wittington Center

Since 2010, GLOCK has donated $350k to the NRA Whittington Center, the most comprehensive shooting facility in America today, complete with 15 shooting ranges, classrooms and a dining facility. It hosts recreational shooting and guided hunts as well as camping, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding activities.

3.    $15,000 to the NRA Wittington Center Adventure Camp

Since 2005, GLOCK has donated $180k to the NRA Whittington Center Adventure Camp, a unique place where young men and women have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of pistol, rifle and shotgun shooting in a positive environment.

4.    30 pistols to the NRA Law Enforcement Division (LED)

GLOCK donated 30 pistols to the LED this year. The event held in Albuquerque, NM, is the NRA's premiere annual shooting competition where Law Enforcement officers from around the globe compete to test their shooting skills.

5.    GLOCK 30th Anniversary Pistol to the NRA National Firearms Museum

This exclusive pistol was presented to the NRA for the exceptional relationship that has contributioned to the success of GLOCK. The pistol includes a limited production serial number and a certificate of authenticity signed by Gaston Glock.


During the ceremony, GLOCK also contributed $25k to the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF), which was accepted by Tammy Mowry, National Program Director for the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP).  "We are so appreciative of GLOCK's support of the SASP," said Mowry. "We look forward to the continued opportunity to work with GLOCK and introduce more youth to the great sport of competitive shooting."
