BEAVERTON, Ore. — Leupold & Stevens, Inc., congratulates Doug Koenig on winning his 16th NRA Action Pistol Bianchi Cup title, adding to his already incredible record of Cup titles.

Since his first win in 1990, Koenig has been almost unbeatable in Bianchi Cup competition. In a match where shooters must be almost perfect to take the title, Koenig has made the perfect 1920 score look almost easy. Over the course of his 16 titles, he's left a mere two points on the table.

"What Doug can do on the competition range is almost impossible to believe, but seeing how hard he works in preparation puts it in perspective," said Pat Mundy, director of brand communications for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. The NRA Bianchi Cup consists of four separate competitions: the Barricades, the Practical, the Falling Plates and the Moving Target. Originally created as a practical test of police marksman skills, the Bianchi Cup has evolved into the utmost test of a competitor's accuracy, focus and ability to deliver under pressure. With a perfect score of 1920, winners are often determined by their "X-count" or number of shots in the center-most area of the target.

Koenig scored a perfect 1920, as did the runner-up. Koenig's X-count of 180 gave him the win by a fairly comfortable margin. En route to the overall title, Koenig also took home the top spot in the Barricades event and was a member of Team USA, who took home the team title, edging out a tough Australian contingent.
