Applied Ballistics Announces New Reference Book

Cedar Springs, MI - Applied Ballistics, LLC proudly announces the release of Bryan Litz's newest resource for long range shooters: "Ballistic Performance of Rifle Bullets". The book provides highly accurate ballistic performance data for modern long-range bullets from .224 to .408 caliber; and serves as an extension of the bullet data library from the popular "Applied Ballistics for Long Range Shooting 2nd Edition".

Available through the Applied Ballistics web store for $54.95, the book provides live fire ballistic performance data for 400 modern long range bullets, ranging from .224 to .408 caliber. The Ballistic Coefficient data is based on live fire testing methods, which are repeatable within +/- 1%.

By employing a common testing method for bullets of all brands, shooters are provided with consistent and accurate performance data, which can be used to compare and select bullets, as well as to calculate accurate trajectories, which put shots on target at long range.

"Modern rifles have reached an unprecedented level of accuracy. In many cases, the weak link in the chain of hitting targets is the trajectory modeling, which is based on bullet performance," stated Author and Owner of Applied Ballistics, Bryan Litz. "Unfortunately, not all bullet companies are able to provide highly accurate Ballistic Coefficients (BC's). In many cases, slight inaccuracies in BC can be the cause of missing your target. Furthermore, a meaningful apples-to-apples comparison of bullet performance is not possible when the BC's are determined differently by various brands."

Litz also includes detailed stability data, helping shooters to determine suitable twist rates for bullets in various environments.

"Our mission at Applied Ballistics is to be the complete and unbiased source of external ballistics information for long range shooters," stated Litz. "We're constantly testing new claims, products and ideas and getting past the marketing hype which can make it difficult for shooters to master the challenging discipline of long range shooting. We developed this latest book to provide shooters of all capabilities with this knowledge, expanding on the data presented in "Applied Ballistics for Long Range Shooting 2nd Edition". The release of this hard cover book will not only provide readers with the additional knowledge of ballistics calculating, but will also provide shooters with an expanded library of bullet data."

Ballistic Performance of Rifle Bullets will be available for pre-order through the Applied Ballistics online store (AB Online Store) for $54.95, beginning 11/1/2014.
