Fountain Valley, CA - SureFire LLC, manufacturer of high-end illumination tools and tactical products congratulates Team SureFire members, Mike Voigt and Maggie Reese, on their stellar performance at the IPSC World Shoot held at Universal Shooting Academy in Frostproof, FL. Mike Voigt took home the Open Senior, Open Senior Shoot-Off, and Open Senior Team titles, while Maggie took bronze with the USA Ladies production team, which also included Julie Golob, Sara Dunivin, and Cindi Thomas.

"USA produced a World Championship worthy of the title. Great shooting challenges, coordination, and stage artwork made it a pleasure to be on the range with over 1400 competitors," said Mike Voigt, Team SureFire member. "It wouldn't have been possible without team members Rob Townley (California), Kerry Pearson (Arizona), and Leighton Oosthuisen (Arizona) to capture the win." This was Voigt's 8th World Shoot.

The match consisted of 30 stages shot over the course of 6 days. There are short, medium, and long-range courses that vary in degree of difficulty. Target array included standards exercises as well as run-and-gun courses of fire. Paper and steel targets, sometimes partially obscured by penalty targets and hard cover are used, as are moving and swinging targets. Walls, ports, and barricades force shooters into awkward shooting positions and test their ability to quickly and accurately negotiate the course.

The IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) World Shoot first began in 1975 in Zurich, Switzerland and has since been held in over 10 countries over the past 39 Years.
